I coach primarily adult women… so, most of my clients will go through some stage of their menopause transition while working with me.

All people born with functioning ovaries will go through menopause at some point in their lives.

Furthermore, the symptoms of menopause can impact women’s lives for several years, if not upwards of two decades. Many women, for example, will start experiencing perimenopause symptoms in their late thirties. Others will have postmenopause symptoms that linger into their sixties.

Think about that: If you are in your thirties, forties, fifties, or beyond, menopause will undoubtedly affect you. It’s kind of a big deal.

While every woman is different, menopause can affect pretty much everything in a woman’s life.

Menopause changes and ultimately puts an end to a woman’s menstrual cycle, which in itself can be a big adjustment. But that’s not all.

The change to a woman’s sex hormones (along with other midlife adjustments) can have a whole host of physiological and psychological ramifications, which may include:

  • Uncomfortable hot flushes and other vasomotor symptoms (i.e., symptoms that affect the nervous system’s regulation of blood flow and temperature through blood vessels).

  • Weight gain and changes to body fat distribution

  • Mood swings and disruptions to emotional well-being

  • Brain fog

  • Lack of energy and fatigue

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Pelvic health concerns and changes (e.g., bladder urgency, “leaking”)

  • Digestive issues (e.g., bloating, constipation)

  • Vaginal dryness and discomfort

  • A greater risk of injury or difficulty recovering from exercise

…and so much more. Women may also be facing major life transitions, such as children leaving home, parents aging and passing away, relationships changing (or ending or starting), identities shifting, and so on.

Plus, many women find that the techniques they used earlier in life to manage their weight and improve their health no longer work as expected. Strategies like “just workout more” or strict dieting may now be more harmful than helpful.

In summary, the experience can be immensely challenging at every level you can imagine.

Yet menopause is rarely talked about, treated, or even considered within women’s health coaching (until now…)

Menopause is a natural, normal, and inevitable part of most women’s lives. Unfortunately, there’s a startling lack of resources for both menopausal women and the coaches and trainers who serve them.

Women seeking information and guidance on menopause may find it next to impossible to find practical, reliable advice. Years of stigma mean there’s a significant lack of credible material on this subject matter. What information does exist is often conflicting at best, and misleading or downright inaccurate at worst.

Additionally, many women feel that their doctors haven’t listened to their concerns or taken their symptoms seriously during menopause, despite the fact that these symptoms can have a significant impact on physical and mental health. (And vice versa: The profound emotional and social shifts women tend to experience at midlife can affect physical well-being.)

Fortunately, a change is coming.

And I can tell you this: Women today want more.

Vast numbers of women around the world are rejecting the outdated idea that they should suffer through menopause in silence – or that the prevailing theme for this part of life is “suffering” in general. Instead, they’re choosing to think of menopause as a new chapter in their lives, full of potential. And they’re actively seeking – and demanding – better care and support.

More and more women view midlife as an opportunity to pursue new goals, adventures, relationships, and ways of life. And they’re looking for people to help them do it.

Since women going through menopause are an incredibly underserved group, it has been my mission to set myself apart as an informed and supportive coach. Best of all, I know that I can make a significant and lasting difference in women’s lives.

(Plus, I can use what I’ve learned to help myself, my friends, my family, or any woman who comes to me for support.)

I know that I have the potential to create an incredibly powerful, positive impact on my clients’ lives.

I understand firsthand that menopause can be challenging. But it can also be an opportunity for greater strength, better health, and deeper empowerment.

And I believe that all women, regardless of life stage, deserve to THRIVE.

Welcome to the menopause revolution.
