The Moxie Fitness & Nutrition Challenge is a 4-Week Virtual Challenge designed to help you build consistent fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle habits, stay motivated, and connect with the Moxie Community. Most clients need strategies that are realistic, simple, and fit with their everyday lives as “imperfect” human beings.


“Goal-setting” is often promoted as the best strategy to achieve the results and type of life that you want. While having goals is important and a good idea, simply writing them down and relying on motivation and willpower to help you take the necessary actions to achieve them is not a fail-proof strategy.


As the actions you consistently take produce your results, a smarter strategy is to focus on developing positive daily and weekly HABITS related to these goals. We call this habit-setting.


Unlike traditional goal setting, which focuses on a specific outcome or result to achieve at some time in the future, habit-setting focuses on determining what consistent behaviors or habits we can adopt to propel us forward towards our goals and then working daily to lock these actions into our daily automatic behavior patterns. Over time, and with consistency, the positive habits we set will ultimately combine and compound to produce the “goals” or “end results” we want.

The Moxie Fitness & Nutrition Challenge focuses on simple habits to build the essential skills that everyone needs to sustain good health, a lean and strong body, and athletic performance for life.


This is not one of those over-the-top fitness / nutrition challenges or super-strict elimination diets. Sometimes we want big results fast, and we imagine that means pushing ourselves as far and fast as we can go. But we often set ourselves up for failure that way. 


It turns out the opposite is often more effective. Slow and steady, consistent follow-through is what gets results. Consistency is perhaps the most important factor in success. “Small hinges swing big doors”. Which means breaking down big goals into small, actionable steps - daily and weekly habits - so that a big goal becomes a workable plan of action. 

Whenever you set out to improve your skills, change your behavior, or better your life, beginning in small, manageable steps gives you a greater chance of long-term success. Doing too much too fast not only overwhelms you, but it can also doom the effort to failure – thereby reinforcing the belief that it’s difficult, if not impossible to succeed. When you start with small, achievable steps you can easily master, it reinforces your belief that you can easily improve.

Your goal will be to follow along with Daily and Weekly Habits and Tasks. These habits and tasks build the essential skills that all clients need to sustain good health, a lean and strong body, and athletic performance for life. But a healthy, fit body isn’t just about food and exercise (though that’s important). It's also about how you think and feel, and what’s important to you. So I will also help you build habits that will ensure proper functioning of the body and foster a positive mindset.

I will provide you with resources for all of the habits (including downloadable handouts) throughout the Challenge. A Welcome Packet will be provided one week out from the start of the Challenge (June 7) where all details and tasks will be explained further.

How much you should eat depends on many factors. To come up with your personalized needs, the following factors are taken into consideration: age, gender, weight, height, activity level, preferred eating style, meals/day, and - of course - your goals.

There are multiple ways to help you track your intake and consistently eat right for your goals and needs. You DO NOT need to count calories or macros to get the right portions for your goals. The Moxie Custom Nutrition Template & Eating Guide helps you meet your protein, vegetable, carb, fat, and calorie needs without having to count a gram or weigh a food. This will dramatically simplify the eating and tracking process, and it’s nearly as accurate as the calorie and macro approaches.
