’Tis the season: Cookies, peppermint bark, and sugary drinks abound. And there's no way around it. From now until New Year's Day, your schedule will likely be filled with family gatherings and obligations, office parties, traveling and festive outings with all sorts of tempting treats. The holidays can be a tempting and triggering time, and staying consistent with your fitness, nutrition, and mindset regime can be challenging. It's no surprise that many of us see our waistlines expand during the holiday season, as even the most disciplined people can find it difficult to stick to their health and fitness routines.
But this year can be different.
Hectic as this time of year may be, staying consistent in the things you value most, like fitness, nutrition, and mindset is still well worth the time and effort. Whether it’s because of too long to-do lists, holiday stress, weather that makes us want to hibernate, or just extra busy days, your consistency (and well-being) doesn’t have to suffer or wait until after the new year to prioritize.
